We are looking for an enthusiastic Community Energy Ambassador to help educate residents and businesses about the benefits of natural gas service and support customers through their transition to natural gas. This dynamic role combines community outreach, customer engagement, event participation, and administrative support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a people-focused environment. As a Community Energy Ambassador, you'll be the face of EPCOR in the community, creating meaningful conversations and delivering an exceptional customer experience every step of the way.
In addition to a competitive hourly wage, this position includes a commission opportunity of $50 per completed customer sign-up.
What you’d be responsible for
Reporting to the Manager, Customer Operations, and collaborating with Marketing and Communications team, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Engaging residents and business owners through door-to-door conversations about the benefits of natural gas service.
- Educating customers about EPCOR's natural gas programs and answering questions regarding available service options.
- Collecting customer information and qualified leads to support the natural gas application process.
- Building awareness and encouraging participation in EPCOR programs through community outreach initiatives.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and representing EPCOR in a positive and professional manner.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local organizations, community groups, contractors, and business associations.
- Supporting integrated marketing campaigns designed to increase awareness, understanding, and enrollment among residential and commercial customers.
- Attending and representing EPCOR at community events, trade shows, business forums, and local outreach activities.
- Supporting inventory management and assist with natural gas meter reading activities as required.
- Assisting with general office administration and program support activities.
- Supporting other Customer Operations and Marketing initiatives as required.
What’s required to be successful
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (GED or equivalent).
- Valid Ontario Class G Motor Vehicle Operator's License with 6 or fewer demerits at the time of hire is required; prior unsafe driving infractions may result in non-selection and G2 licenses are not accepted.
- Candidates must be eligible for an EPCOR driver’s permit and may be required to provide a 3-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract at the time of hire.
Experience that includes:
- 1+ year in one or more of the following:
- Customer service, Retail, Sales, Marketing, Community engagement, Public relations, Event coordination, Hospitality.
- Interacting with the public, building relationships, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Working independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Promoting products, services, programs, or initiatives is considered an asset.
- Participating in community events, outreach activities, or customer-facing environments is considered an asset.
Technical Know How:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to learn and effectively communicate basic natural gas products, programs, and services.
- Experience entering, maintaining, and tracking customer information accurately.
- Ability to use mobile devices, tablets, and other technology to support community outreach and customer engagement activities.
- Experience with CRM, customer management, or lead tracking systems is considered an asset.

Job Requirements and Conditions:
- Ability to meet the physical demands and activities inherent to the work performed, including walking throughout neighbourhoods, setting up for community events, handling promotional materials, and working effectively outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- Resides within or has the ability to regularly travel throughout the Kincardine service area and surrounding communities.
- Ability to travel throughout EPCOR's service territory to support customer engagement activities, community events, outreach initiatives, and other business requirements as needed.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events, trade shows, and outreach activities.

Wage: $30.16 per hour, plus commission opportunities of $50 per completed customer sign-up (subject to program requirements). Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors.

Location: This position is located in Kincardine, Ontario.
